For his last tour, singer-songwriter Ray LaMontagne was backed by members of My Morning Jacket and he’s recruited a member of another top-flight rock act for his next tour. LaMontagne has announced the Just Passing Through acoustic tour in which he’ll be joined by Wilco bassist John Stirratt.

Ray and John are expected to play songs spanning Trouble, Till The Sun Turns Black, Gossip in the Grain, God Willin’ & The Creek Don’t Rise, Supernova and Ouroboros in an acoustic duo format. LaMontagne hasn’t embarked on an acoustic tour in five years.

After an appearance at Ohana on September 9 and a show in Santa Barbara on September 10, LaMontagne kicks off the tour in earnest at the University Of Buffalo Center For The Arts on October 13. From there, Ray and John bring the tour to Ithaca, Troy, Waterbury, Portsmouth, Providence, Red Bank, Baltimore, Morristown, Atlantic City, Hershey and Morgantown in October.

The November portion of the tour begins at the Palace Theatre in Columbus, Ohio on November 1. Up next are stops in Indiana, Tennessee, Louisiana, Alabama, Tennessee and Georgia. The tour is currently slated to end at the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium in Asheville on November 12.

Tickets go on sale Friday, August 4 at 10 a.m. local time.
