In 2015, guitarist Warren Haynes used New Jersey jamgrass act Railroad Earth as his backing band for the studio album Ashes & Dust. Warren then set off on a tour with RRE before forming his own Ashes & Dust Band. This past Sunday Haynes reunited with Railroad Earth at the McDowell Mountain Music Festival in Phoenix.
Warren was on hand for a headlining set with Gov’t Mule. Railroad Earth brought out the guitarist towards the end of their performance for “Addin’ My Voice” and “The Forecast.” The festival took place at Phoenix’s Margaret T. Hance Park. Next up for RRE is a two-night stand at the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. on Friday and Saturday.
