Railroad Earth Shares ‘Long Way To Go’ Quarantine Video & Asks For Submissions
Railroad Earth recorded a quarantine video featuring their classic song “Long Way To Go.” The band left space in their clip for videos uploaded by fans “singing, playing, dancing, bellowing [or] whatever you feel moved to do.”
“We recently got ‘together’ just to play and it put a huge smile on our faces,” wrote RRE in a note accompanying the video. “Now we need your love and energy to complete the picture.” Fans can submit their horizontal video using this form.
Todd Sheaffer plays guitar and sings in the video. He’s joined by longtime band mates Tim Carbone on fiddle, John Skehan on mandolin, Carey Harmon on drums and bassist Andrew Altman. The “Long Way To Go” video also features contributions from keyboardist Matt Slocum and Mike Robinson on banjo.
Read the full statement from the band about the video:
Renewed meaning to a familiar tune. It’s to hard to say how long, but there may be a long way to go before we can gather to celebrate live music in the way we remember.
We recently got “together” just to play and it put a huge smile on our faces. Now we need your love and energy to complete the picture.
Participating is as easy as recording a horizontal video of yourself singing, playing, dancing, bellowing, whatever you feel moved to do, then sending it in. We’ll turn it into a new video where we are all side by side doing what we do best.
We couldn’t do any of this without you, and it would be weird to try. Please join us in creating a few minutes together to rejoice as a community together!
