Radiohead guitarist Ed O’Brien assembled his EOB touring band at Plas Dinam in Wales early this year for rehearsals ahead of the group’s debut tour. O’Brien unveiled video of the group performing “Olympik,” a track on EOB’s recently released Earth album, during the Winter 2020 rehearsals.

The EOB band finds O’Brien backed by guitarist Ross Chapman, keyboardist Hinako Omori, bassist Dishan Abrahams and former Dumpstaphunk drummer Alvin Ford Jr. O’Brien and company made their live debut on February 7, 2020 at The Great Hall in Toronto and played a handful of gigs before the tour was postponed due to the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic.

EOB’s performance of “Olympik” in Toronto came after the guitarist queried the audience about Phish. “Do you guys know the band Phish?,” O’Brien asked before the “Olympik” that ended EOB’s set in Toronto. “They do this thing where they jam and by the endings of all these songs we’re just sort of figuring our way through it.” Ed discussed the influence of Phish on EOB in a pair of interviews that came out around the time of Earth’s release.

O’Brien tapped WIDE EYED to create visual effects used in the new “Olympik” video. Watch the clip, which was directed and produced by David Graham and Andreas Brooks, below:
