nugs recently kicked of a summer discount promotion offering $5 per month All Access plan subscriptions for a limited time. The live music streaming platform also premiered Quick Hits With Ari Fink, an original series hosted by Ari Fink featuring news and interviews.
Produced in collaboration with PhantomAF, Quick Hits episodes feature Fink spotlighting the latest news and talking to musicians, comedians, creators, industry professionals and others. Episodes arrive weekly in the nugs app and later on YouTube and social media.
The series launched its premiere episode with an interview with comedian Nikki Glaser and a subsequent installment with bassist Karina Rykman. The upcoming Quick Hits schedule will see Fink speaking with Warren Haynes of Gov’t Mule, Dave Schools of Widespread Panic, guitarist Cory Wong, DJ/producer LP Giobbi, guitarist Daniel Donato, bassist Ryan Stasik and drummer Scotty Zwang of Umphrey’s McGee and Goose collaborator Justin Bolognino of Luna Luna Creative.
Start watching Quick Hits With Ari Fink by signing up for a nugs subscription. For a limited time, new nugs subscribers can register for an All Access plan for $5 per month for four months. After the summer discount promotion, plans convert to the regularly priced $19.99 per month rate. The summer discount promotion is open through June 29.

What inspired you to create Quick Hits?
Bringing artists’ personalities to the forefront has always been a passion of mine, along with media production and music curation. This format puts some of my favorite entertainers in a position to showcase a personal, humorous side that fans don’t always get to see.
Does the “quick” format handicap you from digging deep with your guests, or is the format fluid depending on the resulting conversation?
If an interview goes beyond the designated timing format, I’ll just segment the episodes into parts. Karina Rykman, an early guest, had plenty to share – and we’ll feature as much of the conversation as possible, in multiple episodes, for fans who want more than just a few minutes from the artists and entertainers.
What makes nugs the right home for Quick Hits?
The artists on nugs’ platform made it a logical choice for the show’s home. Plus, the new nugs Roku app is a game-changer. Being able to watch the show on TVs in addition to smartphones makes it even more accessible for fans who want to see it!
What’s been the most surprising aspect of creating the new show so far?
The most surprising aspect of creating the show thus far has been the encouragement from artists to take part, along with the added bonus of moving to video from the audio world.
Will the episodes shared on nugs differ from what is posted on YouTube?
We’ll be featuring the best segments and clips from the show on YouTube, along with full episodes.
What is something from the many interviews you’ve hosted over the years that you’ve learned not to do when speaking with guests?
Pre-production meetings and interview planning is a crucial part of the execution of a show like this. Blindsiding guests is never a good idea.
How did you decide on the initial group of guests? They seem quite diverse!
The initial list of guests feature some of the most thoughtful, entertaining artists and performers I’ve collaborated with in different capacities over the years.
Who are your dream guests to appear on Quick Hits?
Charles Barkley, Björk, Larry David, Nardwuar, Janelle Monáe, Pretty Lights and Dr. Dre all come to mind.
Without giving away spoilers, what are some things to look out for in the upcoming episodes?
I’ll be speaking with some familiar faces from our scene, along with ones that we’re just getting to know. It’s going to be a fun series full of surprises!
What have you been listening to on the nugs app lately?
I’ve been watching a lot of recent and live concert footage from Goose, Karina Rykman, Cory Wong, Oteil Burbridge, and Joe Russo’s Almost Dead.
