Queens of the Stone Age unveiled “Carnavoyeur,” the second single from their upcoming album In Times New Roman… The 10-track LP, the band’s first in six years, arrives on June 16 via Matador Records.
The band — Josh Homme, Troy Van Leeuwen, Dean Fertita, Michael Shuman and Jon Theodore — assembled at Homme’s Pink Duck home studio to record the bulk of the follow-up to 2017’s Villains. Additional sessions were held at Rick Rubin’s Malibu studio Shangri-La. QOTSA previously shared In Times New Roman…’s lead single, “Emotion Sickness.”

While “Emotion Sickness” is a hard-hitting rocker, “Carnavoyeur” builds to a crescendo aided by strings and synth-laden bassline. Homme delivers a passionate vocal performance that shows off his range. Watch the Juliet Bryant-directed lyric video for “Carnavoyeur” below:
Queens Of The Stone Age returned to the stage this past weekend for appearances at the Boston Calling and Sonic Temple festivals. The band last played in 2018 outside a surprise set at the Imperial Ball charity concert in January of 2020. Homme and his bandmates debuted “Emotion Sickness” live at Sonic Temple and premiered new song “Negative Space” at Boston Calling.
The group now heads to Europe for a series of festival appearances. Scroll below for a full list of Queens Of The Stone Age tour dates.
