Punch Brothers Cover Tame Impala For ‘Spotify Singles’

Americana act Punch Brothers recently stopped by Spotify’s New York City studios to record an installment of the Spotify Singles series. The quintet’s session includes an original from their new album and a wonderful Tame Impala cover.

Punch Brothers began with “Jumbo,” a standout track from their latest album All Ashore. Mandolinist Chris Thile, banjo player Noam Pikelny, bassist Paul Kowert, guitarist Chris Eldridge and fiddler Gabe Witcher then served up a bluegrass-tinged interpretation of “Let It Happen,” the opening track from Tame Impala’s 2015 album Currents.
