Widespread Panic continued their three-night run at Red Rocks in Morrison, Colorado on Saturday night. The band delivered a 22-song show filled with reprise jams, bluesy covers and a 300-show bust-out.
Playing for over three hours before a sold-out audience, Widespread Panic opened with “One Arm Steve” into “Flat Foot Flewzy” to kick off the show. “Surprise Valley” came next, and gave way to “Rock” before returning to “Surprise Valley.” After a breath, the band performed “Walkin’ (For Your Love)” followed by “Jaded Tourist,” the first performance since October 20th, 2011. Dylan’s “A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall” came next with “Hatfield” and “Climb To Safety” to end the first set.
The second set opened with “Diner” followed by “Junior”, the Junior Kimbrough song. Next came “Christmas Katie” into “Action Man,” followed by “Bust It Big” and “Ride Me High.” Then “Drums” led to “Space Wrangler” before Widespread Panic closed the second set with covers of The Guess Who’s “No Sugar Tonight/New Mother Nature” and Howlin’ Wolf’s “Tail Dragger.”
The sold-out Red Rocks crowd was then treated to a nearly 30-minute encore of non-stop music beginning with “Disco” and followed by “Low Spark Of High-Heeled Boys” into “Tie Your Shoes” before returning to the Traffic cover to conclude the show.
Widespread Panic plays again Sunday night at Red Rocks.
