Umphrey’s McGee ended a swing through Florida with a concert at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre in St. Augustine on Saturday night. The six-piece band shared professionally-shot video featuring an improvisational highlight of the evening.
Saturday’s show was heavy on jamming as “Draconian,” “Attachments” and “Ocean Billy” all either approached or passed the 20-minute mark. UM had the fans in St. Augustine dancing during the particularly groovy “Attachments” jam. At one point it sounded as if the band was going to segue into “Safety Dance” but instead they kept the dance party vibe going.
Guitarist Jake Cinninger led the sextet through the majority of the “Attachments” jam before keyboardist Joel Cummins stepped up with a Moog solo. Jake and Joel each soloed at the same time to bring the improv to a massive peak and the it’s you track to its conclusion.
