Last fall The Travelin’ McCourys and the Jeff Austin Band came together for the The Grateful Ball Tour in which the two acts teamed up to deliver a nightly set of Grateful Dead covers. The bluegrass groups have shared official video footage of “Althea” from their co-bill at The Hamilton Live in Washington D.C. on October 26, 2016.

Written by Robert Hunter and Jerry Garcia, “Althea” was debuted by the Grateful Dead on August 4, 1979 at the Civic Auditorium in Oakland. It was played by the Dead on more than 250 occasions, including a final time on July 8, 1995 at Soldier Field in Chicago.

The Travelin’ McCourys kick off a West Coast set of Grateful Ball dates with the Jeff Austin Band on Tuesday night in Jacksonville, Oregon.
