Instrumental quartet TAUK issued a new EP Shapeshifter I: Construct earlier this month. A few days after its April 6 release, TAUK teamed up with members of PHO to perform the EP track “Malware” live in Minneapolis.
TAUK once again teamed with accomplished producer Robert Carranza for the six-song Shapeshifter I: Construct. The studio version of “Malware” featured guest contributions from The Naughty Horns. PHO opened for TAUK at The Fine Line when the two acts rolled into the Twin Cities a few weeks ago and trumpeter Lukas Skrove and saxophonist Aaron Levin joined the headliners during their performance of “Malware.”
TAUK revealed they will be joined by several other horn players at three upcoming concerts. On May 4 at the 9:30 Club in Washington D.C., Joe Herrera (Thievery Corporation) and Mario D’Ambrosio (Yellow Dubmarine) will perform as special guests. TAUK will welcome Mike “Maz” Maher and Chris Bullock (Snarky Horns) and Nate Werth (Snarky Puppy/Ghost-Note) during their May 18 show at Brooklyn Bowl and Werth will also appear with TAUK the following night at the same New York City venue.
