Colorado’s own The String Cheese Incident are gearing up for their return to Red Rocks in Morrison, Colorado July 20 – 22. The band dug into their archives to share professionally-shot video of a Michael Jackson cover they performed at the venue back in 2002.
SCI were led by drummer Michael Travis on vocals for “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough” at Red Rocks on July 5, 2002. Robert Randolph & The Family Band opened for Cheese that night and the pedal steel wiz sat-in on “BAM!” to end the first set as well as the “Close Your Eyes” encore. “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough” emerged out of an unfinished “Drifting” within the second set.
The String Cheese Incident debuted their take on the Michael Jackson classic back on April 20, 2002. Cheese’s version at Red Rocks in 2002 was the second of six they’ve played. “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough” has been on the shelf since a performance of the song at Red Rocks on August 10, 2007.
