As previously reported, Spafford made their Madison Square Garden debut on Friday night when they played during halftime of the Knicks/Heat game. According to setlist site Spaffnerds the Arizona jam quartet played a 90-second version of “Leave The Light On” along with a full take on “Ain’t That Wrong” from their upcoming studio album For Amusement Only which is set to be released on May 4.
The band made the most of their brief time in New York City, as they also played a live session for Paste Magazine. The four-piece act performed a three-song acoustic set along with speaking with the music and culture publication about their upcoming release, how they choose cover songs and what kind of music moves them. Spafford’s set included a pair of original tunes along with a cover of Emerson, Lake and Palmer’s “Lucky Man” from the prog-rock act’s 1970 self-titled album, which was dusted off for the first time since Halloween of 2014.
