Pro-Shot Video: Phish Shares Expansive ‘Fuego’ From The Forum

On Saturday night Phish concluded their first-ever two-night stand at The Forum in Inglewood, California near Los Angeles. The latest addition to the band’s YouTube channel features an improvisational highlight from the Saturday evening performance.
Phish opened their final West Coast set of the summer on Saturday with the pairing of “Gotta Jibboo” and “Fuego.” The latter stands among the best versions in the song’s history and was selected by Phish as their video share from the concert. While Phish performed “Fuego” over 50 times since debuting the tune on Halloween 2013, only a handful have broke structure.
The “Forum Fuego” started innocently enough until bassist Mike Gordon and keyboardist Page McConnell led a move to a blissful jam space. Phish brought the music to near silence before guitarist Trey Anastasio unleashed a beautiful melodic line. McConnell quickly followed along and the quartet patiently built the lilting and lovely chord structure they had created to a strong climax.
