Pro-Shot Video: Joe Russo’s Almost Dead Welcomes Stuart Bogie For “Mississippi Half-Step” > “Estimated”

Joe Russo’s Almost Dead played the 1st Bank Center in Broomfield, Colorado on April 29, a show that was originally supposed to take place at Red Rocks but was moved indoors due to the threat of stormy weather. The latest installment of the band’s Rad Tracks Thursday series features professionally-shot video featuring a stellar sequence from the second set in Broomfield.

The video below picks up after a wild “Dark Star” second set opener featuring members of Medeski, Martin & Wood. JRAD was joined by longtime friend and collaborator Stuart Bogie for the entire second set. Up first in the clip is “Mississippi Half-Step Uptown Toodeloo.” Bogie utilizes clarinet and it fits the song fantastically. Guitarist Tom Hamilton handles lead vocals until the “Across The Rio Grande” section at which point Joe Russo sings. The 20+ minute segment continues on with an impressive rendition of “Estimated Prophet” sung by Scott Metzger.
