Pro-Shot Video: David Rawlings Performs ‘Cumberland Gap’ Live On The Current

Earlier this month, David Rawlings issued his excellent solo album Poor David’s Almanack. The singer-songwriter recently performed a song from the album live for Minneapolis public radio station The Current.

The first album released under David Rawlings’ own name, Poor David’s Almanack followed-up the Dave Rawlings Machine albums A Friend Of A Friend in 2009 and Nashville Obsolete in 2015. The 10-song LP was recorded by engineers Ken Scott and Matt Andrews on analog tape during a week of sessions in Nashville at Woodland Sound Studios.

The new release marked Rawlings’ eighth collaborative album with Gillian Welch. She was among the cast of supporting musicians performing the Poor David’s Almanack single “Cumberland Gap” live at The Current. Watch the performance below:
