Pro-Shot Video: Dan Auerbach Performs Solo Acoustic ‘Shine On Me’

On June 2, Dan Auerbach will release a new solo album Waiting On A Song via his recently established Easy Eye Sound record label. The Black Keys’ frontman recently performed a solo acoustic guitar rendition of the album’s lead single “Shine On Me.”

Waiting On A Song is said to be Auerbach’s “love letter to Nashville” – the city he’s resided in since leaving his native Akron, Ohio in 2010. Auerbach enlisted several of his fellow Nashville-based musicians, including the renowned John Prine, Duane Eddy, Jerry Douglas, Pat McLaughlin and The Memphis Boys’ Bobby Wood and Gene Chrisman to write and record his follow-up to 2009’s Keep It Hid. The album’s first single, “Shine On Me,” features guitarist Mark Knopfler.

Auerbach appeared on the Dutch radio program Ekdom In The Morning to perform “Shine On Me.” According to a translation of Hilversum-based station’s post, Auerbach was performing the single for “the first time live and acoustic,” watch below:
