Pro-Shot Video: Blackberry Smoke Covers ‘Don’t Do It’ At Lockn’ 2017

Last summer Blackberry Smoke made their debut appearance at the Lockn’ music festival. The Southern rock act opened day two of the fest which featured their performance of the Motown classic made famous by The Band, “Don’t Do It.”

The Atlanta-based act served up an 11-song set that day. Originally released as a single by Marvin Gaye in 1964, the Holland–Dozier–Holland-penned tune “Baby Don’t You Do It” was a longtime staple of The Band’s live repertoire. Blackberry Smoke offered their arrangement of The Band’s version of “Don’t Do It” toward the end of their performance, between takes on “Believe You Me” and “Ain’t Got the Blues.”

The 2018 Lockn’ fest will take place August 23 – 25 in Arrington, Virginia. Organizers of the event shared pro-shot footage of Blackberry Smoke’s take on “Don’t Do It” – watch below:
