Chicago sextet Umphrey’s McGee recently completed a run of shows featuring saxophonist Joshua Redman as a special guest. The band has teamed with TourGigs to release video of new original “Speak Up” that was performed with Redman back on January 29 at the Orpheum Theatre in Madison, Wisconsin.

Umphrey’s McGee debuted the funky “Speak Up” back on New Year’s Eve in Denver and the only other version of the song besides Madison took place at the Beacon Theatre in NYC on January 22. Redman’s horn fits perfectly into the tune and he unleashes an impressive solo towards the end of the Madison “Speak Up.” Watch how it went down:

Last night, UM continued their Winter Tour with TAUK at College Street Music Hall in New Haven, Connecticut. The show featured a pair of bust outs as Umphrey’s dusted off a cover of The Allman Brothers Band classic “Jessica” (last played May 25, 2014) in the first set and began their encore with Mötley Crüe’s “Dr. Feelgood” (last played April 7, 2014). Tonight, the tour moves on to the State Theatre in Portland, Maine. A webcast is available through TourGigs.
