Pro-Shot Full Show Video: Father John Misty Performs At The Capitol Theatre

The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York hosted a concert by Father John Misty last night. Professionally shot video footage of the entire concert has been made available via Pitchfork Live.

Touring in support of the recently issued studio album Pure Comedy, the show began with frontman Josh Tillman leading his band featuring horns and strings through the first four songs on the record, beginning with the title track and progressing through “Total Entertainment Forever,” “Things It Would Have Been Helpful to Know Before the Revolution” and “Ballad of the Dying Man.”

Along with the songs from the new record, Tillman offered several selections from his 2015 sophomore LP I Love You, Honeybear such as “Bored in the USA,” “Chateau Lobby #4 (in C for Two Virgins)” and that album’s title track. A few song from the 2012 debut Father John Misty album Fear Fun – “Hollywood Forever Cemetery Sings,” “I’m Writing a Novel” and “Nancy From Now On” – were brought into the set as well.
