Pro-Shot Full Set Video: Billy Strings Performs At 2017 Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival

The 2018 Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival will be held July 19 – 21 in Oak Hill, New York and feature artist-in-residence Billy Strings. The talented guitarist and his band performed at last year’s Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival and LessThanFace Productions has shared multi-cam video footage of Strings’ 2017 set.

A cover of The Stanley Brothers’ staple “Little Maggie” opened Strings’ set last summer. The group then played their arrangement of Blackfoot’s “Train, Train.” Next came Strings’ often paired covers of John Hartford’s “I’m Still Here” and The Monkees’ hit “Last Train to Clarksville.”

The old-timey folk classic “Hold The Woodpile Down” was then offered ahead of the emergence of Lindsay Lou who added vocals to Ralph Stanley’s “I Only Exist.” Strings then led his band mates through the title track of his 2017 studio album Turmoil & Tinfoil. Guest guitarist Cody Kilby came onstage for a cover of John Phillips’ Grateful Dead staple “Me & My Uncle” and a version of Larry Sparks’ “These Old Blues.” The set ended with a performance of “Roll On Buddy, Roll On” by Bill Monroe.
