Late last night Prince welcomed his Purple Rain co-star, Apollonia Kotero, to Paisley Park Studios in Minnesota for the first time and celebrated the occasion with a surprise set. Prince was backed by 3RDEYEGIRL for what Consequence of Sound reports was an eight-song performance, which included “Endorphinmachine” and “She’s Always in My Hair.”

Apollonia is in the middle of her first visit to Minnesota since filming the 1984 movie Purple Rain. Next month marks the 30th anniversary of Purple Rain’s release in theaters. The actress and performer was in town for Prince & The Revolution drummer Bobby Z’s Benefit 2 Celebrate Life concert, which took place at First Avenue before Apollonia headed to Paisley Park. “4:42 A.M. in Minneapolis, just had a private concert by Prince and 3rdEyeGirl at Paisley Park…Ida on Bass, Donna on Guitar and Hannah on Drums. They play loud and HARD. Heard new music that was dope! He had a cool chair for me on the stage at his side and I sat there transfixed on every note, every move, every vocal. After every song I yelled and clapped my ass off. It was so amazing it made me sweat. These ladies are so talented and beautiful. I was charmed. And Prince…my heart still skip’s a beat,” Kotero wrote in a since-deleted Facebook post according to Consequence of Sound.

Prince has shared about ten minutes of audio from last night’s set, which started at 3 a.m. in typical Prince fashion:
