Legendary performer Prince will make his return to long-running sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live on November 1. Prince last appeared on the program back in 2006.

Chris Rock has been tapped as the host for the episode featuring Prince. The November 1st appearance will mark The Purple One’s third as musical guest on Saturday Night Live. Prince first appeared on SNL in 1981, which the 25-year gap between his ’81 and ’06 visits as the longest gap between musical appearances in the show’s history. That record has been broken in recent years by both Elton John and Leon Russell. The Purple One also performed on an SNL special in 1989.

Prince recently released two new albums. He’ll be joined by his all-female backing band, 3rdEyeGirl, for his visit to SNL.
