On November 22 a new Prince greatest hits album Prince4Ever will be released via NPG Records/Warner Bros. Records. The 40-song collection features the previously unreleased track “Moonbeam Levels.” In addition to the greatest hits package, a reissue of Prince’s famed Purple Rain album has also been revealed with the promise of more new music included in the release.
Prince recorded “Moonbeam Levels” during the 1982 sessions for his 1999 LP. The song was reconsidered several years later but ultimately also left off his 1999 full length Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic. Hits such as “When Doves Cry,” “Let’s Go Crazy,” “Kiss,” “Little Red Corvette,” “Purple Rain,” “Raspberry Beret,” and others make up Prince4Ever which also comes with a 12-page set of never-before-seen images by photographer Herb Ritts.
The remastered deluxe reissue of Purple Rain is expected to come out early next year. It reportedly was prepared prior to Prince’s death on April 21 of this year, and is expected to come with “a second album of previously unreleased material.”
