Primus Reschedules Rush Tribute Tour
Primus laid out new dates for A Tribute To Kings, a tour featuring the trio performing Rush’s A Farewell To Kings album at each stop. Now, the band is expected to hit the road from August 10 – October 25, 2021 with Wolfmother and The Sword aboard as support for select dates.
Each night will see Primus play both A Farewell To Kings and a set of originals. The tour is currently slated to begin at Outlaw Field in Boise on August 10. Additional August dates follow in Bonner, Montana; Spokane, Washington; Redmond, Washington; Troutdale, Oregon; Bend, Oregon; Asheville and North Carolina.
Primus then heads to Bonnaroo ahead of September shows in Raleigh, Charlotte, Houston, Austin, New Orleans, Irving (Texas), St. Louis, Indianapolis, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Columbus, Chicago, Sterling Heights (Michigan), Boston, Asbury Park, Wallingford (Connecticut), New York City and Baltimore. The band wraps the tour in October with stops in Philadelphia, Essex Junction (Vermont), Westbrook (Maine), Pittsburgh, Richmond, Milwaukee, Kansas City, Salt Lake City, Berkeley, Paso Robles (California), Los Angeles, San Diego, Denver and Phoenix.
“Finally, the clouds are parting, the planets are aligning, the dough is rising…whatever metaphor floats your preverbal boat, PRIMUS is going on tour again. We were poised and ready for a massive, bent-rock extravaganza when the gremlins of covid came and yanked the rug out from under us all,” bassist Les Claypool said. “I personally have been climbing the walls like a shit-house rat and, after my first season off in 30 some odd years, I’m very anxious and excited to stand in front of the microphone with my four string piece of furniture and belt out some girthy ditties to sweaty throngs of punters.”
Dates originally scheduled for Toronto, Lafayette (New York) and Minneapolis have been canceled outright. Refunds are available at the point of purchase. All original tickets will be honored on the new dates. Those who cannot attend the new dates can obtain a refund for the next 30 days.
