In July 2014 Primus drummer Tim “Herb” Alexander underwent invasive heart surgery after suffering a heart attack. Unfortunately, just shy of two years later Alexander shared a message on social media revealing he recently experienced a second heart attack.

Tim shared the below message with news of the recent heart attack:

I had a second heart attack the other day. I did not think this could happen after having a triple bypass almost exactly 2 years ago. I was overwhelmed with sadness, not because of the fact that I could die but that I would have to say goodbye to my family. It can happen at any moment, and remember IT WILL HAPPEN ONE DAY so tell the people in your life you love them. Enjoy the days you have with them, they are limited. We are all here for a short time.

A follow-up post from Alexander declared he was “home and doing well.” Back in May, Alexander was behind the kit for a weeklong stint as a guest with Late Night With Seth Meyers house band the 8G Band. Primus is currently slated to appear at the Desert Daze festival in Joshua Tree, California being held October 14 – 16 and the Aftershock music festival in Sacramento, California on the weekend of October 22 – 23.
