As reported, this year’s Grateful Dead Meet-Up At The Movies will take place at select cinemas nationwide on May 11. The screening will include a previously unreleased Dead show from 1989 and today we have our first taste of the band’s footage from that performance.

On July 2, 1989 the Grateful Dead performed before over 60,000 fans at Sullivan Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts. Highlights from the show include a rare “Playing In The Band” opener, “Friend Of The Devil” kicking off the second set and a magical post-“Space” sequence of “The Wheel” > “Dear Mr. Fantasy” > “Hey Jude.” Watch the “Tennessee Jed” the Grateful Dead played on that night thanks to Rolling Stone:

In addition to the Dead concert from 1989, Meet-Up At The Movies will also include backstage footage from the first-ever Dead & Company Tour as well as an interview with GD archivist David Lemieux about the July 1978: The Complete Recordings box set.
