Earlier this year legendary ensemble the Preservation Hall Jazz Band released a new studio album entitled So It Is. The renowned New Orleans-based act recently performed a pair of songs on the album live as part of a World Cafe Session.
Held on July 21 in Philadelphia at WXPN Performance Studio, bandleader and bassist Ben Jaffe steered the group through a rendition of the So It Is single “Santiago.” It’s one of seven songs on the record produced by TV On The Radio’s David Sitek that was heavily influenced by the Preservation Jazz Hall Band’s 2015 trip to Cuba. The World Cafe Session also featured a performance of the album cut “La Malanga.”
