On New Year’s Eve, jamgrass veterans Railroad Earth held a concert at Revolution Hall in Portland, Oregon. That evening’s third set featured the band covering “Young Americans” and JamBase is pleased to premiere an officially shared recording the debut performance of the David Bowie classic.

Railroad Earth showcased their take on the title track to Bowie’s 1975 album shortly after midnight on December 31. The New Year also featured RRE’s first live rendition of the traditional “Let Your Light Shine On Me,” which came right before the Bowie cover.

Tonight, Railroad Earth begins a three-night stand at Denver’s Ogden Theatre. They play Harrah’s Lake Tahoe on Thursday ahead of three nights in San Francisco at The Fillmore beginning a week from today. Railroad Earth’s Winter Tour continues on both coasts and in the Midwest throughout February and March.
