Post Malone and Billy Strings covered “Cocaine Blues” together on Wednesday night. The collaboration took place during Strings’ concert at The Observatory outside Los Angeles.
Malone emerged in the middle of the second set to play acoustic guitar and sing “Cocaine Blues.” Wednesday’s collaborative rendition was Strings’ first public performance of the classic country song popularized by Johnny Cash.
“I saw this guy lurking around backstage,” Strings said as Malone took the stage. “And figured we gotta drag him up here to fucking sing for you.”
“Billy Strings is the best to ever fucking do it,” Malone said. “Thanks for having me out! We’re gonna do a Johnny Cash song.”

Strings has covered Malone’s song “Circles” twice in concert. The first of those two performances featured Sierra Hull sitting-in.
