The final day of the 2017 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival was held Sunday in the Big Easy. Local funk legends The Meters were among the final day’s headliners. Fellow well-established NOLA funk act Galactic also played a set on Sunday. Legendary blues guitarist Buddy Guy made up for his rained out 2016 Jazz Fest performance. The closing day also saw hometown veteran Jazz Fest icons the Preservation Hall Jazz Band play a typically rousing set. Frontman John Popper and Blues Traveler were given the honors of closing out the Blues Tent.
Rockers Kings Of Leon brought their tour to NOLA for a set that was followed by local stars Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue. The final slate of performers also featured Walter “Wolfman” Washington, The New Orleans Klezmer Allstars celebrating their 25th anniversary with special guests such as Henry Butler and Frank London , Los Angeles-based Dawes, local roots rockers Cowboy Mouth and others.
