One of the nation’s most illustrious events, the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, continued on Saturday as part of the first of two consecutive weekends of music in the Big Easy. Maroon 5, Alabama Shakes and Usher & The Roots headlined the action at the Fairgrounds on Day Two of Jazz Fest ’17. Usher led The Roots on “Caught Up,” “O.M.G.,” “Jungle Boogie” and more, while Maroon 5 focused on the hits over the course of their set and Alabama Shakes showed off an expanded lineup.
The Crescent City was well represented at the Fairgrounds on Saturday by Jon Batiste & Stay Human, Cyril Neville, Stanton Moore, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Rebirth Brass Band and dozens of other New Orleans-bred acts. Amos Lee, Jon Cleary, Marc Broussard and JOHNNYSWIM were among others to play Jazz Fest’s second day of 2017.
