The special box will include new photographs from the show and an essay by Parke Putterbaugh, who penned a biography on the band. New Year’s Eve 1995: Live At Madison Square Garden will be available exclusively at participating independently owned record stores across the country.
The Vermonters’ epic New Year’s show from 1995 included stellar versions of “Reba,” “Drowned,” “Mike’s Song,” “Weekapaug Groove” and of course “You Enjoy Myself.” It also featured a cover of Collective Soul’s “Shine” sung by Tom Marshall as part of a “Forbin’s” > “Mockingbird” sequence. There’s also the “Gamehendge Time Phactory” gag the quartet used to ring in 1996.
