In 2013 a new podcast focusing on the music of Phish titled Helping Friendly Podcast was launched. Today, the team behind Helping Friendly Podcast posted the 100th installment of the podcast.
Hosts Brad, RJ and Jonathan discuss Phish’s upcoming Baker’s Dozen run, reflect on notable conversations from past episodes and talk about the lessons learned over the previous four years and 99 episodes. Included within are four incredible Phish jams: the Cincinnati ’03 “Bathtub Gin,” the Dick’s ’12 “Undermind,” the Deer Creek ’95 “Reba” and the Providence ’94 “Bowie.”
For those looking to dive into Helping Friendly Podcast’s past, a few notable episodes featured special guests pianist Holly Bowling, LD Jefferson Waful, Phish lyricist Tom Marshall and author Nathan Rabin. There’s also a fantastic series in which members of the Phish community pick shows or sets they really enjoy and discuss why as well as reviews of most of the concerts the quartet has played since the podcast launched.
I’ve appeared on the podcast a few times including a discussion of one of my favorite Phish shows. Be sure to keep your eyes on hfpod.com for future installments and congrats to the Helping Friendly Podcast team!
