Phish concludes what has already been a memorable New Year’s Run at Madison Square Garden tonight in New York City. The band shared professionally-shot video of improvisational highlights from opening night on Friday as well as Saturday’s barnburner.

First is a Wagyu cut of “Meat” from the first set of the run on December 28. All four members participated in a funky musical conversation in which they showed off the lessons learned by watching James Brown shows over and over in 1997 and 1998. Take a look:

The quartet also unveiled a magical 35+ minute segment from the second set on Saturday. First up is a 20+ minute “Tweezer” in which the band explored both blissful and dark jam spaces with great success. “Death Don’t Hurt Very Long” from Phish’s Remove term: Kasvot Växt emerged following a massive “Tweezer” peak. Guitarist Trey Anastasio shouted out drummer Jon Fishman as “Bob Weaver” for a rare drum solo and bassist Mike Gordon as “cactus” for a bass-led tangent during “Death Don’t Hurt Very Long.” Phish jammed “Death Don’t Hurt Long Long” into another round of “Tweezer” improvisation.
