Phish announced “Live Phish On Long Play” (“LP On LP”), a new vinyl-only release series. The band detailed the first two installments, which will be released on June 18.

The first installment of LP On LP is the “Ruby Waves” performed by Phish on July 14, 2019, at Alpine Valley in East Troy, Wisconsin. The 38-minute “Ruby Waves” was part of an instant classic show and the longest song Phish had played since 2003. The performance was recorded by Garry Brown and the vinyl release was mixed by Elliot Scheiner from the multitrack masters.

The second installment of LP On LP is the “Waves” performed by Phish on May 26, 2011, at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in Bethel Woods, New York. The 28-minute “Waves” recorded by Jon Altschiller and mixed by Scheiner comes from a tech rehearsal on the eve of the first show of Summer Tour 2011. Phish archivist Kevin Shapiro first premiered the Bethel Tech “Waves,” which includes elements of John Coltrane’s “A Love Supreme” theme, on an episode of From The Archives broadcast on Phish’s The Bunny radio station at their July 2011 Super Ball IX festival.

The first two volumes of the “LP On LP” series are available for pre-order now via Phish Dry Goods. The records will be available in stores on June 18.
