Phish issued official audio featuring all six sets from their Clifford Ball festival today on digital streaming platforms. Additionally, an official recording of the band’s Flatbed Jam was added for purchase to LivePhish.com and for streaming by LivePhish+ subscribers.
The Clifford Ball was Phish’s first major festival. Held at the decommissioned Plattsburgh Air Force Base in Plattsburgh, New York on August 16 – 17, 1996, the event featured three sets each day from the quartet. Phish gathered on a flatbed truck in the early morning hours on August 17 for a fully improvised performance dubbed the Flatbed Jam.
Clifford Ball video was released on DVD in 2009. Last November, the band aired all six sets for Thanksgiving Weekend installments of their “Dinner And A Movie” live archival video broadcast series in honor of the event’s 25th anniversary. A massive Clifford Ball vinyl box set was announced and put up for pre-order a few days later. Phish also issued the Flatbed Jam on vinyl as a Phish Dry Goods Exclusive.
