Phish Announces New Year’s Run At Madison Square Garden In New York City

By Scott Bernstein Sep 27, 2016 10:06 am PDT

A tradition will continue at the end of the year when Phish celebrates the conclusion of 2016 and rings in 2017 with a four-night New Year’s Run. Madison Square Garden in New York City will host the band once again between December 28 and 31.

Phish first played MSG on December 30, 1994 and by the end of this year’s run the quartet will have performed 39 shows at the famed venue. Madison Square Garden hosted a Phish New Year’s Eve performance for the first time on December 31, 1995. The band returned for NYE shows at the venue in 1997, 1998, 2002, 2010 through 2013 and again in 2015. The four-night stand comes just about eight weeks after the end of Phish’s Fall Tour at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Halloween.

A pre-sale lottery for tickets to each show is currently underway via Phish Ticketing. The entry period ends on Monday, October 10 at 12 p.m. ET. Public on-sales for each show are scheduled for Friday, October 14 at 12 p.m. ET. All floor tickets will be general admission. Travel packages will be available via CID Entertainment starting Thursday, October 13 at 12 p.m. ET. Phish will donate their proceeds from the travel packages to the WaterWheel Foundation.
