Phil Lesh & Friends Re-Create Grateful Dead Show From 1993 At Terrapin Crossroads

By Scott Bernstein Sep 22, 2016 8:26 am PDT

Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh continued a tribute to each year of the band’s touring career by re-creating a show from 1993 on Tuesday night at Terrapin Crossroads in San Rafael, California. Phil Lesh & Friends utilized a setlist from one of the Dead’s Fall Tour 1993 concerts that originally took place on September 28, 1993 at Boston Garden in Boston, Massachusetts.

Lesh was joined by drummers Ezra Lipp and Alex Koford, guitarists Stu Allen and Grahame Lesh and keyboardist Scott Guberman for the performance. The show Phil & Friends re-created was one of six the Grateful Dead played at Boston Garden between September 24 and 30, 1993. Stu handled vocals on the Jerry tunes, while Grahame handled vocals on the Bob tunes. Highlights included Allen’s delivery of “So Many Roads” and the jam-heavy “Uncle John’s Band” > “Playing In The Band” sequence that came ahead of “Drums” as part of the second set.
