Phil Lesh has announced a handful of unique events to celebrate the Fourth of July weekend at his Terrapin Crossroads venue in San Rafael. The former Grateful Dead bassist will host a pair of special all ages daytime shows on July 1 and 2 in the venue’s backyard, and will offer up a lengthy set on the 4th.

On Saturday, Lesh will team with Nicki Bluhm, Grahame Lesh and Ross James for a family-friendly event dubbed “Paint In The Park.” The ad-hoc group will perform an acoustic set as the soundtrack for day of painting for both children and adults. Tickets are on-sale now via the venue’s website.

Lesh will return to the venue’s backyard on Sunday for a free event that’s being billed as “Stories & Songs with Phil Lesh & The Terrapin Family Band.” The all ages afternoon show will feature Lesh reading children’s stories, and will be followed by a set from Lesh and The Terrapin Family Band.

On July 4, Lesh & The Terrapin Family Band will close-out the long holiday weekend up a three-hour set inside the venue.
