Phil Lesh And Friends To Weave Themes Into Fall Tour Shows

In less than two weeks Phil Lesh & Friends will kick off a 12-show fall tour at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY that also visits the Best Buy Theater in NYC and Philadelphia’s Tower Theater. Today, Lesh has revealed the band “will be integrating exciting thematic elements into each performance.” What exactly does that mean? In the spirit of keeping everything a surprise, Phil doesn’t want to say too much but adds “it could be an album, a band, or some special unique thread that PLF will weave into the tapestry of each set.”

The bassist will be joined by Anders Osborne, Luther Dickinson, Tony Leone, Jason Crosby and Grahame Lesh for the upcoming tour. We hope the statement above isn’t Phil making a mountain out of a molehill, but we’d love to see this ensemble cover a few landmark albums.

Here’s the full list of dates:

10/31 -11/3: The Capitol Theatre -Port Chester, NY
11/5 -11/9: Best Buy Theater -New York, NY
11/11 -11/13: Tower Theater -Philadelphia, PA

Earlier this week Phil and the Terrapin Family Band played a set at Terrapin Crossroads as part of the launch of the Grateful Dead-themed American Beauty beer from Dogfish Head. The venue has shared video of the entire set via its YouTube channel:

Speaking of Lesh, we’ve suggested a few potential Phil Friends We’d Like To See –Nels Cline and Benmont Tench.
