Peter Shapiro’s exclusive deal with Phil Lesh is paying dividends for NYC Deadheads as the impresario’s Jambands.com site has announced that Lesh and some of his musical friends will play a two-night stand at the iconic Brooklyn Academy of Music on April 14 and 15 that will be produced by Shapiro.

For the first-ever Grateful Dead-related project at BAM, Lesh’s friends will be drummer Joe Russo, keyboardist John Medeski, guitarist Warren Haynes and multi-instrumentalist Jackie Greene. Tickets are expected to go on sale March 7 at 10 a.m. ET via the venue’s website. “We are thrilled to bring the music of the Grateful Dead to BAM for the first time,” Shapiro explains on Jambands.com. “Warren is flying up from Wanee before he travels to Australia with Gov’t Mule just to be a part of this. Phil is doing the same between runs at the Cap and Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas. These shows are going to be special.”
