Phil Cook Offers Early Stream Of ‘People Are My Drug’ Album
By Scott Bernstein May 25, 2018 • 12:20 pm PDT

While multi-instrumentalist Phil Cook isn’t scheduled to release his second solo album People Are My Drug until June 1, he is giving fans a chance to listen to the record early. Cook took to his social media channels to ask followers to send him an email at peoplearemydrug@gmail.com telling him something good. Those responding will get a free stream of People Are My Drug along with a note from Phil.
Phil Cook recorded the follow-up to 2015’s Southland Mission in both Wisconsin and North Carolina over the course of a ten-day period. Cook enlisted his brother and Megafaun band mate Brad Cook to produce the nine-track People Are My Drug. The touring and recording member of Hiss Golden Messenger is backed by his band The Guitarheels featuring drummer JT Bates, bassist Michael Libramento and pianist James Wallace on the record. Contributors include Tamisha Waden, Amelia Meath and the No BS! Brass Band.
