Organizers of the Phases Of The Moon Music & Art Festival, which takes place at Mulberry Mountain in Ozark, Arkansas October 16 – 18, have announced details of this year’s Lunar Landing Conspiracy set as well as the 2015 Artist-In-Residence.
Matt Butler of Everyone Orchestra fame has been tapped to curate this year’s Lunar Landing Conspiracy. Last year’s Lunar Landing Conspiracy set was curated by The String Cheese Incident and saw them joined by special guests for a number of moon-themed songs. The curator’s challenge is to conceptualize and orchestrate a full concert set utilizing the cast of musicians, performers and artists present at Phases of the Moon Festival. Butler has plenty of experience as he performs with a different batch of musicians at nearly every Everyone Orchestra show.
Phases organizers have also revealed Larry Keel has been selected as this year’s Artist-In-Residence following the footsteps of David Gans who held down the role in 2014. “The Phases of the Moon Artist in Residence is designed to showcase an artist over the course of the weekend. The concept is flexible and free flowing allowing the artist full creative expression including but not limited to multiple artist ‘sit-in/collaboration’ (both musical & visual) of their choosing throughout the entire event as well as solo impromptu shows, meet & greets and more,” according to a statement.
STS9, the Disco Biscuits, moe., Warren Haynes, Yonder Mountain String Band and Leftover Salmon are just a few of the artists expected to perform at the second annual Phases Of The Moon festival. Tickets for Phases Of The Moon are on sale now via the festival’s website.
