Percy Hill To Celebrate 20th Anniversary Of ‘Color In Bloom’ With Complete Performance
In 1998 New Hampshire-based jam act Percy Hill redefined their sound with the release of Color In Bloom. The LP featured a recently changed lineup and displayed incredible musicianship and songwriting. Percy Hill will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Color In Bloom by performing the album in its entirety at an upcoming concert.
On May 12, Percy Hill will play each and every track off Color In Bloom as well as other Percy Hill favorites at the Gramercy Theater in New York City. In addition, another band that shared the bill with PH plenty of times in the ’90s, Moon Boot Lover featuring Peter Prince will open. The band will also perform at The Sinclair in Boston on May 11 (sans Moon Boot).
The Color In Bloom era lineup features founding members Joe Farrell and Nate Wilson along with Aaron Katz and John Leccese. Percy Hill’s CIB lineup has only performed a handful of shows in recent years, some of which included percussionist Yahuba Garcia. Color In Bloom scored a Jammy Award for best studio album in 2000. “Even at live shows and within the Color In Bloom tracks that we play on stage, we’ll go places we wouldn’t normally go musically and wouldn’t be heard on the record,” Leccese said of the band’s first full performance of the LP.
