Pearl Jam Welcomes Karaoke Winners For ‘Daughter’ In Telluride
By Scott Bernstein Jul 12, 2016 • 8:25 am PDT

As reported, Seattle rockers Pearl Jam had a very special night on Saturday as the band made their Telluride debut with a performance at The Ride Festival. One of the many memorable moments of PJ’s set at The Ride Festival came when Eddie Vedder invited the two winners of a Pearl Jam Karaoke Contest held in town to share the stage on “Daughter.”
Vedder noted the contest was held during the prior week and told the crowd he wished he would’ve known as he could have at least come in third “on a good day.” Eddie then asked if the winners of the contest were in the audience and brought them up to the stage. The two young women stayed side stage until “Daughter,” when the frontman welcomed them out to a sing a chorus. After the ladies left the stage, Vedder got serious by throwing in lyrics from “WMA” including “police stopped my brother again” likely in reference to recent police shootings.
