Pearl Jam Shares Studio Track Off New Brandi Carlile Covers Album

On May 5, a new charity tribute album featuring covers of each tune from Brandi Carlile‘s 2007 album The Story will be released to benefit the London-based international charity War Child. An impressive and diverse array of acts contributed to the 14-song effort titled Cover Stories: Brandi Carlile Celebrates 10 Years of The Story – An Album to Benefit War Child. One of the tracks was recorded by Pearl Jam and today audio of the song premiered via Pitchfork.

Pearl Jam, who will enter the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame on Friday night, recorded a cover of “Again Today.” Brandi Carlile contributed backing vocals to the track. Listen to the Seattle rockers’ version of “Again Today”:

My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James, The Avett Brothers, Kris Kristofferson, Margo Brice, Old Crow Medicine Show, Indigo Girls and Anderson East are among the other performers that contributed to the LP. Dave Cobb produced Cover Stories and outside of Ruby Amanfu’s “Shadow On The Wall” and Adele’s “Hiding My Heart,” the tracks were laid down in 2016 just for this project. Adele recorded “Hiding My Heart” in 2011 and it was that version which inspired Cover Stories: Brandi Carlile Celebrates 10 Years of The Story – An Album to Benefit War Child.
