Pearl Jam Postpones Tonight’s Show In London

Seattle rockers Pearl Jam were set to conclude a two-night stand at London’s O2 Arena tonight. However, frontman Eddie Vedder has “completely lost his voice” leading the band to postpone this evening’s concert.

A note from Pearl Jam mentions “the band is working on rescheduling the concert date for mid-July.” Vedder has been put on vocal rest for the next few days in an attempt to get his voice back in time for the group’s next gig on Friday, June 22 in Milan. “It’s the first time ever having to postpone a show for this reason. Ed and the band are gutted thinking of all the folks who have travelled and made plans,” continues the statement from Pearl Jam. “Sending their biggest apologies out to everyone. And huge gratitude for all the continued support.”

Ticketholders for tonight’s concert should hold on their tickets which will be valid for the rescheduled date. The band will provide more information soon.

Vedder mentioned he saw a voice doctor yesterday during Monday’s concert at the 02 Arena. Eddie joked about paying the doctor £10,000 to give him a voice like Adele and the doctor responded, “That is a million dollar voice but for 59 quid I can make you sound like Liam Gallagher” as per a fan report. Vedder told the crowd he was kidding and mentioned, “The sad songs will sound sadder and the angry songs will sound angrier tonight.”

Pearl Jam reeled off a 27-song performance on Monday in London. “Of The Girl,” “Brain of J,” “Deep,” “Love Boat Captain,” “You Are,” “Parting Ways,” “Off He Goes,” “Sleeping By Myself” and “Last Kiss” all saw action for the first time this tour last night.
