Seattle rockers Pearl Jam continued Spring Tour last night at Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, Ontario. Eddie Vedder & Co. kept the tour debuts coming with four more unveiled as part of a 30-song performance in the Canadian capital.
Vedder sported an “Every Mother Counts” t-shirt in honor of Mother’s Day. The band opened with a pair of songs off their most recent album starting with its title track “Lightning Bolt” and continuing with “Mind Your Manners.” Pearl Jam’s 18-song main set in Ottawa featured a mix of tour staples such as “Elderly Woman,” “Even Flow” and “Given To Fly” with rarities “Faithfull,” “I Am Mine” and “Immortality.” Last night’s main set also included the tour debut of “Big Wave.”
Eddie emerged to start the first encore with bassist Jeff Ament for a duo version of “Bee Girl.” Sunday’s first encore also featured the evening’s three other tour debuts: “Parachutes,” “Speed Of Sound” and a cover of The Who’s “Love Reign O’er Me.” Pearl Jam hadn’t performed The Who classic since November 24, 2013. Vedder began the second encore with a snippet of U2’s “All I Want Is You” before the show came to a close with “Wasted Reprise,” “Life Wasted,” “Black,” “Alive” and a cover of Neil Young’s “Fuckin’ Up.”
