Paul Simon Dedicates Acoustic ‘The Boxer’ To New York City

New York City native Paul Simon shared a video featuring a solo acoustic rendition of “The Boxer” that he dedicated to his hometown. “The Boxer” is the latest in a series of solo performance videos Simon has been rolling out during the coronavirus pandemic.

“Hello my friends, I’m sending my love and concern and I dedicate this song to my fellow New Yorkers,” Simon said at the start of the video. Paul originally recorded “The Boxer” with Art Garfunkel for Simon & Garfunkel’s 1970 album Bridge Over Troubled Water. Watch the version Paul Simon shared on Monday below:
